Hello again,This is a tough question to ask, truly. I have so many favorites. I don't know about huskies, personally, but I've heard they're grand. Hmmm. I think that for appearances my personal preference goes to the Irish Wolfhound, of course. They're so gorgeously rugged, big and strong. I adore that in a loyal companion. For companionship Cocker's a wonderful, but they tend to be a little exuberant at times. I would never have believed it a year ago, but one of my new favorite breeds are Basset Hounds. I got my Sheamus back then and he's marvelously noble in his behaviour, not to mention affectionate towards me and my baby niece, who simply adores him. Now that I've adopted Jones, this new impression of the breed has certainly been strengthened. Then there's the fact that they're so funny to look at with their short legs and long bodies. Last but no least is the shepherd. Loyal to a fault, steady in character and perfect for training. Samuel, he's my eight year old Shepherd, is like a steadfast guardian, who'd give his life for me. Such loyalty deserves a definite note of appreciation. Do you find this valuable? |

Yeah, like Addie said, that's a toughy. Hmmm. A favorite... Just ONE? They all have their pros and cons, really.I really like Huskies, but they're not really for me, for some reason. ;-) Well, my favorite used to be Bobtails. Knight I was so great that I wanted more of them and had at on time four of them. They are very high maintenance, though, and they have a lot of health problems due to excessive breeding. Labs are always a great choice. I haven't yet had one that was "wrong" in any shape or form, but I'm gonna have to go with Bassets at the moment. I love Chaos, who literally preens when I call him "my gorgeous", LOL. And I adore the way he trots, rather than runs or walks. I can almost imagine him as a horse for some reason. But the mixed breeds can be great too, especially if the mix is just right. It's just too hard to choose. :-) Do you find this valuable? |

Sorry Ange,No Sharpei in our pack. Do know someone who's got a couple, but I never actually met them, LOL. I hear that they're good dogs to have in pairs or as a singular. I believe I read somewhere that they don't go well with other dogs. And your right, they're really a fashion trend at the moment. They're being advertised everywhere. Do you find this valuable? |

sharpei? Aren't that the wrinkly kind? I've heard that they need a lot of maintenance and that they've been bred so much that they're getting to have more and more trouble. Sad that. How about the Scottish Collie. They're so dainty and pretty. I always wondered what it would be like to have one like that. Do you find this valuable? |

ooh, lassie. i wanted one of those as a kid. they're so pretty. good one, addie.that IS sad-the sharpei breeding stuff, breeders often screw things up that way. they forget that sometimes you need fresh blood in the pool, :) what do you think about yorkies. my aunt used to have one, he was cute. Screw it up indeed. They did the same with Wolfhounds and now their usual life expectancy is little more than 7 to 8 years. Bloody hell!Yorkies? Uhm. Not really my kind of dog, in all honesty. I doona like terriers all that much, even though some of them are very sweet. Newfoundlanders? Do you find this valuable? |

Yep, read that somewhere, too. Awful!Newfoundlanders ARE very furry, but to compare it to a St. Bernard??? I don't know. I think they're very different. Hope you got to work in time. LOL. What about Pocket Beagles? Did you ever hear of those? They're cute, but they can REALLY screech if they get excited. It literally hurts your ears, hahaha. Very sweet characters, though. I don't see the comparison with a St. Bernard, except perhaps its size.As either of you have any experience with Dachshunds? I've a friend who just got a puppy and tis absolutely adorable. But I always see these aggressive little sticks on paws, barking their heads off, haha. The village librarian has a Chow chow. Strange creatures, but a beautiful fur. Do you find this valuable? |

Kai's scared to death of him. hah. lots of chowchows around here. pretty fur like you said but i don't really like 'm. can't explain why. how 'bout a tse tse? Do you find this valuable? |

::) omg! i'm such a spaz. shitzu. that's what i meant. they're cute, but i think kai would eat one in one swallow. he had some trouble with my new cocker....... oh man i totally forgot to tell you guys how it went. she's so pretty. she was waiting in her cage all prettied up-i think they gave her a bath that morning-and flopped right down in the middle of my bedroom when we got home. kai was watching her from the distance not wanting to come close and she just endured rory's wild attempts to get a sniff of her (half breed retriever) the cats just sort of sat on the closet deciding that it she's just another furry annoyance, haha.Do you find this valuable? |

Hi Emma,Glad to see you join us. :-) Cockers are great, aren't they? Noah and Lilly? You'll have to post pictures some day so we can all see them. Amazing how dogs can do what humans can't sometimes, isn't it? And no, it doesn't sound cheesy at all. Ange, Oooh, I was wondering how the new dog had worked out. Is she getting along with the others now? And what's her name? Her color. Pictures, Ange. Pictures. LOL Hahaha. I was reading the Tse Tse remark and wondering what the heck you meant. Shih Tzu, huh? I don't know. I like my dogs big and a little less... eh, fluffy. But then, I never thought I'd like Bobtails and Bassets either until got them, so who knows, right? Addie, Dachshunds? I would say they're a handful from the look of them and their reputation, but I don't have a clue. LMAO. We got out dog Clue back from the hospital last night, by the way, and he was soooo happy to be home after more than a week confined to a cage. It was a sight for sore eyes for sure. :-) Do you find this valuable? |

hey emmie! :)what kind of cockers are they. i got a spaniel last monday (i named her REBA, sam, lol) and she's adorable. yours are five? are they brother and sister? they sound like sweethearts. :) sam, reba's getting along with the other great now...well, at least with rory, who fell irrevocably in love, i think, haha. kai's moving around her in a big circle still. my cats have decided to tease her somewhat fierce. last night after i got home from work reba had a scratch on her nose and later i saw what must have happened. reba will be lying on the chair, watching riker (that's my male cat...i know, star trek, lol) fussing on the floor keeping her distracted. then tammy (female cat) sneaks up the book shelves and jump right on top of reba, making her squeal and dash off into hiding. lmao. i know i shouldn't laugh but its just so sneaky of them that i can't help myself, haha. tse tse, i know. i suck call me i.d.ten.t bobtails? those are like max from the little mermaid, right? you had a dog in hospital? what happened? i'm so glad he's home. is he ok now? Ange,That's hilarious about the cats pouncing on Reba, but I do hope that they stop soon, poor girl. I'm so happy that it is all going well with her. Is Kay usually shy towards new dogs? Aye, Bobtails are like Max in the little mermaid, haha. They're marvelous. I've got one myself, Merlin, and he's wonderfully clumsy. What's ID Ten T, by the bye? Hello Emma, I love Cockers. I've got one name Lilly, too, haha. She's one of two pups I kept from Caleb and Caitlyn. So sweet. Sam, I'm so glad Clue is home and happy again. Are the stitches healing well, you forgot to say in your mail? Do you find this valuable? |

addie, hi!!!i know its funny, it cracks me up even thinking back on it haha. i hope they stop harassing her soon, though. kai's not shy at all. that's what so weird. its not like him to act this way. almost seems as if he's afraid she'll take his place...which she could never do, he's my best pal after all. merlin? a fuzzy wizard, eh? that creates a very interesting image. how many dogs do you have anyway? i've counted five or six, so far, i think. you've got to change ten into 10 and you'll see it lol. Hi ladies. :-DJeez. Those are some sneaky cats. LMAO. Yep, Max. I had four of 'm (one mixed with a collie) but now only one's left. Bommel. He's great. I got him for my eighteenth birthday as a surprise and he was around one year. He's getting old now. Clue got ill a couple of weeks ago, couldn't walk anymore so we took him to the vet who did a lot of tests and finally found out that he had some sort of tunnel system (long hole) in his body, probably caused by a torpedoing seed. I was horrified when I saw the Xrays. I had never seen anything like it. Better be careful when you walk the dogs. Look out for those big grass seeds with the fuzzy endings and the long appendages. They can kill a dog. Clue probably inhaled one months ago and he just barely survived. LOL ID10T. Good one. Addie, Sorry I forgot. His stitches are looking well, he's walking around as if all is well.:-) Do you find this valuable? |
