Hello Patricia,
I am very pleased with the way Jonesy is settling in Jones, but having gone on some other sites about the losses of pets, I do have a few questions as how you achieved this transfer as you call it. It is working brilliantly, by the bye. He's adjusting so fast, and to have Jonesy back feels wonderful to all of us.
These are a couple of questions from someone I shared my particular experience with, and I wondered if you could answer it.

"do you think your beloved ^Jonsey^ was ready to come back to earth?"

And...

"and (this is what concerns me the most) what happened to Jones (the Basset's) spirit? Did his original spirit go back to the Bridge, so ^Jonesy's^ spirit could return back to you, on earth?"

I thought these questions to be most interesting.
I am filled with curiosity about the entire process, as you undoubtedly understand.
Thank you in advance.

Hi AddieUk,

Got one back as well, did ya? Maybe we can message sometimes?

Patricia,
Those are good questions, and I got one too. lol
Here goes,
In the Qs and As you say that a transfer is not at all like reincarnation. What do you mean by that? You said it when we first exchanged comms but I still don't really know what it means ;)

Hi Addie,
Wonderful to see you here.

I'm very glad to hear that Jones is doing so well. It is always a pleasure to hear that a transfer went smoothly for all involved, and I'm always happy to help.

I see that I have managed to forget to predict a few questions in the Qs and As, and I'll be sure to put that on the list soon.
Let's see if I can give you an answer right now, though.

"do you think your beloved ^Jonsey^ was ready to come back to earth?"

Yes. This is the first thing I always check when I set out to do a pet transfer. When I got your request to get your Jonesy back, I immediately found him through the pictures+address you sent because he hadn't returned to the universal animal spirit to which all animals go when they die, but was still attached to you, the way some very determined dogs tend to do when they have a strong connection to their master.

"and (this is what concerns me the most) what happened to Jones (the Basset's) spirit? Did his original spirit go back to the Bridge, so ^Jonesy's^ spirit could return back to you, on earth?"

When I placed Jonesy inside the Basset, I did not (and never do) remove the present identity, I merely added Jonesy to him, so that they can intertwine if you will, or like I said in the Qs and As, I put the two together so they can form a harmonious symbiosis with each other. This does not negate the identity/soul with which the Basset was born, but merely adds the experience and the knowledge of your Jonesy.

I hope that this answers these particular questions. Addie, if you have more, don't hesitate to ask.

Give my love to your family.
Patricia

Hi Ange,

"you say that a transfer is not at all like reincarnation. What do you mean by that?"

Reincarnation is something that happens when an person, or in this case an animal dies, goes to a different plane of consciousness and lingers there until it is time to be reborn.
Let me explain the difference:
If, for example, Pookie dies and a transfer is not requested, his spirit, his identity or his soul if you will, passes on towards what I call the universal animal spirit in which it will be consumed by the whole, washing away that which made a pet the one you knew. For some animals this takes a while, and for others it is almost instant. It really depends on how well formed its identity was.
Some minor traits will sometimes remain when this happens and years later you can come across a dog that bears some resemblances to the passed animal, but it will be fleeting and mostly all semblances will be wiped away by the genetic makeup of said dog, or behavioral patterns which it has acquired through the time within the reincarnated body.

Well, this forum doesn't allow for a long response, which this subject really needs, so I'll continue in the next post with the rest.

Here's the follow up on:

"you say that a transfer is not at all like reincarnation. What do you mean by that?"

Now, with a "transfer" the animal doesn't go into the universal spirit, thus it does not get wiped empty of memories and such, but I keep it in temporary stasis, until a new body is found in which it will be able to continue as if nothing happened. How well this will be perceived depends on the breed of the new host, the genetic disposition, and the way it was treated before the transfer was made. When the animal is still very young, the personality of the transferred pet will become the dominant identity, and take the lead, so to speak. If the new one is older and already "formed" in behavior and character, it will be less noticeable, naturally.
Combining two identities, whether old or young, is never an unpleasant experience for an animal. I have several dogs that I have combined over the years, and they are quite happy to stay that way permanently. As a matter of fact, even if I did find a perfect body for any of them, they'd choose to stay as one instead. Sometimes the combined characters go so well together that they prefer to be one, rather than two... but that is an entirely different issue that I won't go into at this particular time.

I hope that I have answered your questions to your satisfaction. If you have any others, feel free to ask. This is exactly what I created this site for.

My best wishes to you both and your beloved canines.
Patricia.

Hello Patricia,

Thank you for answering my questions.
Jones is doing well, he and Sheamus are becoming vast friends, which I think is the Basset's own character. Jones didna have much interest in low-to-the-ground dogs, haha. Tis good, though. He seems to be very content and just loves the fact that he can climb on my lap. Twas one of his biggest regrets when he was a Wolfhound. Tis a very special feeling to have him settle on my lap and lay his head on my shoulder in a rather adoring fashion.

I've thought of another question, one the stems from your mention of combinin two souls. Why would anyone want to do this?

Love,
Addie

Hi Addie,

There are a multitude of reasons why people can choose to combine their pets.
On the most part I prefer doing this particular transfer with an older identity being added to a young unformed one, but if the owner has health problems that make having multiple dogs a problem, or financial difficulties or anything along those lines at the time of the animal's passing, I can place the identity of the the said dog into the other dog that is still with the family, either permanently or until times have changed in such a way that a "new" dog can be found.
By doing this at least the owner is assured of keeping the beloved identity near no matter what the circumstances.

Yes, some new character traits always occur after a transfer, it is inevitable. I am very pleased to hear that you are so happy with you Jones, though.

Best wishes to you and yours.
Patricia
